Election Results

So Republicans took back the house. Honestly I'm not all that upset. This has been predicted to happen for years now. Next I predict that the republicans will continue to gain popularity and support until the next election in 2 years.
Honestly I empathize with the Tea Party. Frustration over the stagnant economy has been hard on everybody. I merely disagree with them on how they choose to express that frustration politically.

On another note, Prop 19 failed to pass yesterday in California. For some reason. Now drug related violence will continue to happen across the border and a harmless substance will continue to remain illegal. I don't even smoke the stuff; I just think it should be up to the individual whether to do so or not.

  6. Prop 19 at least raised awareness, and opened people to the option that it could be legalised. It has received a fair bit of coverage here in Australia - so thats a start?
I don't smoke either, but weed seems to like alcohol, harmless in moderation.

  11. I wish prop 19 would have passed. I don't even smoke but I do agree that it should be up to the individual.

  12. Yeah I'm fairly apathetic to the whole thing EXCEPT for prop19. I hate smokers but this shit has got to become legal so we can get rid of all the problems it is creating.

  19. Yeah, so California lost by thinking they won. Ignorant fucks I'm living with.

  20. Thank god America is seeing the Red again...

As a libertarian leaning individual though - I am a little disappointed in Prop 19 failing... I don't smoke myself, but I can understand the benefits of legalizing it.

  21. There are better things out there that need to passed instead of prep 19.

  22. Oh politics...when will you learn that what works for you doesn't work for everyone else.

  23. While I am disappointed.. in the results, it was still a good try. I expect them to keep coming with similar ballets like Prop 19. It only a matter of time.

  24. Since the house has been taken by Republicans, this just puts congress in a gridlock and nothing will get done.

HOWEVER, Because we now have a good percentage of tea party republicans inside with the GOP, this might cause a conflict of interest and tear the party apart.

2012 might not be bad for the Democrats and maybe they will have their shit in order this.

  25. I agree with The Informant, absolutely nothing will get done in the next two years, I feel like this will make the government slow moving and useless... Which does no one good!

  26. Alcohol is worse than weed
Theres nothing wrong with Democrats or Republicans its the people who rely on them for everything, and hang on their every word.
The Tea party didnt have enough experience and time to back them up, give them a couple years and im sure theyll be better next time

  29. Man, I had high hopes for California too...

  30. High hopes indeed ,but whats worse is that most profit will go to the drug dealers instead of the state

  31. The disappointing thing is that most people who voted against p19 will have no knowledge about cannabis other than the prejudices that everybody grows up with..
